How to verify your Spotify for Artists account step by step

A practical answer to a specific question independent artists face in digital distribution — what actually happens, and what you can do about it, step by step, with no term left unexplained.

01

Prepare the master

Export the final mix as an uncompressed WAV file — the standard is 24-bit / 48kHz. Listen to the file all the way through, from beginning to end, on headphones and on a phone speaker. Check the start and the end for clicks, and don't leave extra silence at either end.

✓Uncompressed WAV, 24-bit / 48kHz
✓A full listen on two devices
✓No clipping, no clicks, no extra silence
02

Cover art that passes review

Your cover art travels with the release to every store. The spec is 3000×3000 pixels, RGB. Keep text minimal and readable at thumbnail size, and avoid platform logos, account handles, prices and links — stores reject cover art that carries them.

✓3000×3000 pixels, RGB
✓Readable at thumbnail size
✓No platform logos, handles or links
03

Metadata and codes

Metadata is how the world finds you: an artist name spelled the same way on every release, the real title with no decoration, and the correct language and genre tags. The codes — ISRC for the recording and UPC for the release — are assigned during preparation; you don't need to buy them anywhere.

✦ Spelling drift is the most common first-release mistake — «ليلى نور», «ليلىنور» and «ليلى ن.» become three different artists in the stores.
04

Choose the release date

Give yourself room. A date several weeks out leaves space for review, delivery and pitching before day one. Line the date up with anything you control — a video, a show, a run of posts — so the release lands with support behind it rather than alone.

05

Request your invite

Mazufa works by invitation only. Completed applications enter a human review queue as capacity allows. Submitting does not create an account; those accepted may receive a dedicated preparation invite.

06

After acceptance

After preparation, your release is packaged to spec and delivered to every platform, and its data is pitched to the appropriate editorial and algorithmic surfaces. From there, watch your dashboard: streams, saves and playlist adds, per platform and per country.

What is Spotify for Artists and why do you need it?

Spotify for Artists is a dashboard built for artists that lets you manage your own page on the platform, follow listening stats, update your photo and bio, and pitch your songs to the official playlists. Having a verified account means the verification badge appears next to your name, which gives you credibility with listeners, bloggers and media outlets.

The basic requirements before you start

Before you apply for verification, make sure you meet these requirements:

  • You must have at least one song released on Spotify.
  • You need a regular Spotify account (free or paid) to sign up.
  • If you use a distributor such as Mazufa, make sure the distribution is complete and the song is live on the platform.

Step one: go to the Spotify for Artists site

Open your browser and go to the link artists.spotify.com, then click the button "Get Access". A page will appear asking you to log in with your Spotify account.

Step two: log in with your account

Use your personal Spotify account details (email and password). If you do not have an account, create one from the same page. Use an email address you will always have access to, since this account will become linked to your artist page.

Step three: search for your artist name

After logging in, a search box will appear. Type your artist name exactly as it is registered on Spotify, and pick your name from the list that appears. If your name does not appear, it means your songs have not been distributed yet or have not been indexed on the platform; come back 24 to 48 hours after the distribution goes live.

Step four: choose a verification method

Spotify will ask you to verify your identity as an artist in one of the following ways:

  • Through the distributor: If you use a digital distributor such as Mazufa, the distributor can confirm your identity directly, which is the fastest and easiest route.
  • Through a Facebook account: If your Facebook page is linked to your artist name, it can be used for verification.
  • Through a contact email: In some cases Spotify asks for an official email address to send the confirmation link to.

Step five: submit the request and wait for approval

After choosing a verification method and entering the required details, click "Submit request". The review usually takes from one day to a week. You will receive a message at the registered email address when your request is approved.

Step six: complete your profile as soon as you are approved

Once your request is accepted, go into the dashboard and start updating these items:

  • Upload a professional photo at a resolution of no less than 750×750 pixels.
  • Write a short bio in the language your audience uses.
  • Add links to your social media accounts.
  • Set your city and country to help Spotify recommend you to local listeners.

A note about distribution

Claiming Spotify for Artists is subject to Spotify's own steps, eligibility and verification; Mazufa should not be assumed to hold direct verification authority.

Summary

Verifying your Spotify for Artists account is a necessary step for every serious artist. It gives you full control of your page, lets you pitch your songs to the official playlists, and gives you accurate data about your audience. Do not put this step off once your first song is out.
