WESTERN AFRICA

Music made in Mali runs through Mande griot repertoire with kora, ngoni and balafon, desert blues guitar, wassoulou and rap. Bamako studios record a lineage with deep international reach. Recording happens mostly in Bambara, French, Songhay and Tamasheq, and titles appear in the Latin alphabet, with Tifinagh and N'Ko also in use. Metadata then stays simple: one consistent artist-name spelling, accented characters left intact, and a language tag that matches what is sung. Setting these fields correctly at upload also avoids duplicate artist profiles later.

Money here is counted in West African CFA franc (XOF). Reporting is shown in the currency the platform pays out in, not converted per market, so allow for movement in the exchange rate between a statement and a withdrawal. Audiences mostly find releases through YouTube, FM radio and wedding and ceremony performance. Store and platform coverage in this territory varies and remains subject to current availability, eligibility and platform rules.
